Entry in to Bhutan can be made either by land or by Air. The National carrier of the Kingdom , operates regular flight to/from Paro, Delhi, Kolkata, Nepal, Mumbai, Singapore, Kathmandu and Bangkok.
By surface entry into Bhutan is possible through southern border town of Phuntsholing, Samdrup Jongkhar and Gelephu. From Phuntsholing to Thimphu is 6 hours drive and from Baghdogra to Phuntsholing is 4 hours drive.
If you are coming by Land, you have to make Entry Permit in Regional Immigration Office (at Entry Points) and if you are coming by Air, Immigration issue permit on arrival on Airport (permit on arrival). But Immigration accept only Voter card and Passport to prove your identity. If child without voter card or Passport, they have to bring Birth certificate.
